Volcanic Faultlands
What players would know
The volcanic belt is the Empire’s reminder that the world is unfinished. Ash valleys cut trade in half. Vents open where roads used to be. Old lava tubes become smugglers’ dreams until they become tombs.
Most maps treat the faultlands as “blank” not because no one has looked, but because the terrain refuses permanence. People who travel near it learn to read the sky: not for weather, but for the color of the dust.
Common rumors
- Some passages only exist for a season, then collapse like a bad promise.
- Fire-willed beings—Ifrit—treat trespass as fuel.
