Church Caravans
What players would know
Church caravans are the Solar Church on wheels: wagons under sun‑banners, guarded by armed devotees, carrying relic chests, sealed casks, and documents that become law once stamped in the right ink. When a church caravan rolls into a town, the market reorganizes itself around it. People line up for blessings, petitions, and rumors.
They travel with procedures as much as with cargo—inventories recited like prayers, handoffs performed as rituals, and enough witnesses to make theft feel like blasphemy. That doesn’t stop thieves; it just changes what they’re stealing.
Common rumors
- Some caravans carry sacrament stock under double seals, and the seals are counted twice a day.
- A caravan’s “paperwork wagon” is more heavily guarded than its gold.
