What players would know #

A skyrider is a desert flying reptile that rides heat the way ships ride wind. It glides on thermals, hunts by vibration and scent, and can vanish into dust-haze with alarming speed.

In settled lands, “skyrider” is used sloppily to mean the animal, the bonded rider, or the pair. Among the Travelers, the word is respected: it names a creature that can keep you alive—or get you killed—faster than a blade.
