What players would know #

Some places are “bright” on certain days of the year. Leyline convergences are sites where magic gathers and coheres—seasonally, unpredictably to outsiders, and never safely. Springs run strangely. Leaves change color overnight. Old stones feel warm to the touch even in cold air.

Pilgrims and opportunists alike seek these places when they “wake,” because miracles happen there and so do disasters. Officials sometimes attend without insignia, as if hierarchy itself is a provocation.

Common rumors #

• Convergences don’t like being claimed; anyone who tries to build a fort on one ends up building a ruin.
• In winter, roads “forget” how to reach certain bright places, no matter how well you know the way.
