Lineage Stewardship

What players would know

Elven noble houses treat family like a long project. Lineage stewards are the people who keep that project on track: genealogists, match‑brokers, physicians, and quiet advisors who talk about “harmony” the way generals talk about supply.

In polite company, stewardship is framed as care—preventing scandal, preserving health, arranging alliances. In rougher company, it’s framed as control. Human courtiers whisper about ledgers that track bloodlines across centuries and about children “sent away” to cloisters for reasons nobody will state plainly.

Common rumors

  • Some houses can predict a child’s temperament the way farmers predict weather.
  • A steward’s smile means you are being measured for a life you didn’t choose.
