Session 2 Player Recap - Hochsilvar (2026-03-11)

Session 2 Recap: Hochsilvar

The investigation pushed deeper into Niederstadt and the transport networks around Ponte Nero.

Read-Aloud Recap

Last time, on your way into Niederstadt, you were jumped by a pack of low-grade street opportunists in a badly lit passage. You got through it without turning the whole district upside down, and in the aftermath settled on a codeword for real danger: poet's balls.

At the Broken Seal, Aurelia reconnected with Cael Kohl, who pointed you toward Rex Flavus in Ponte Nero and gave you a phrase to use: we never did mind about the little things. In return, Aurelia now owes Cael a favor.

You spent some time checking the Meriwal wine lead, but got little from the closed shop. At Ponte Nero, you found Rex on shift. He would not talk openly there, but he did set a meeting: Pitch 33, around noon, near Tully’s store. You also learned that at least one outgoing shipment was under Brazen Pike guard.

After that, you split up. One of you tailed Rex and learned that after work he stopped briefly at the Rusted Hook before heading home. The others went back through the bank and then to the Valdieri quarters, where you met Pietro Sarto at the gate and learned he could be found at the Lost Lantern.

The next morning, when you checked back in on the bank side of the case, you confirmed something ugly: the guards who should have been posted at Banco Valdieri during the robbery had been reassigned through forged paperwork. Captain Ensio Silbermark assigned detectives to investigate that internal mess.

So, as we begin: you have a live meeting with Rex coming up, a servant contact at the Lost Lantern, and strong reason to believe the robbery depended not only on vault access, but on someone shaping guard coverage and moving goods through the city.

What happened

  • On the way to the Broken Seal, the party was ambushed by a group of shabby street opportunists in a dim side passage.
  • The group got through the encounter without lethal escalation, and agreed on a danger codeword for future situations: poet's balls.
  • At the Broken Seal, Aurelia met with Cael Kohl, who pointed the party toward a contact in Ponte Nero named Rex Flavus.
  • Cael gave the phrase we never did mind about the little things to use with Rex, in exchange for a favor to be called in later.
  • Before heading to Ponte Nero, the party spent time checking the Meriwal wine lead, but did not get useful information from the closed shop.
  • At Ponte Nero, the party found Rex on shift. He would not talk openly there, but set a follow-up meeting for Pitch 33 around noon near Tully’s store.
  • The party learned that one outgoing shipment was under Brazen Pike Company guard.
  • After that, the party split up:
    • one track tailed Rex after his shift;
    • the others went back to Banco Valdieri and then to the Valdieri family quarters.
  • At the Valdieri gate, the party met Pietro Sarto, who can be found at the Lost Lantern.
  • Rex later stopped briefly at the Rusted Hook Tavern before going home to a modest apartment.
  • The next morning, the party reported back and confirmed a serious discrepancy: the guards who should have been posted at Banco Valdieri had been reassigned through forged paperwork.
  • Captain Ensio Silbermark assigned Detectives Lotta and Jarek to the internal investigation.

Current working picture

  • The bank robbery is tied not only to vault access, but also to city logistics and movement of goods.
  • Someone interfered with the normal guard posting at exactly the wrong time.
  • Rex may know more, but was only willing to talk away from Ponte Nero.

Active leads for next session

  • Meet Rex at Pitch 33 around noon near Tully’s store.
  • Decide whether to follow up with Pietro at the Lost Lantern.
  • Keep pressure on the forged reassignment and what it means for the bank job.
